Event for brides-to-be set

   The Bakersfield Californian

It's the bride-to-be university featuring classes in "Dream Wedding 101." If you're getting married, the more than 50 wedding professionals at the Kern County Premier One-Day Bridal Event will get you prepped and ready for that big day.

Put on by the Kern County Bridal Association, this is one of the three bridal shows the group does per year, prepping the future wives and husbands of Kern County on how to find the right caterer, the right florist or the right dress.

Unlike other shows that are often put on by local shops, this event is a catchall of anything and everything involving weddings -- from horse-drawn carriages to a wedding bagpiper.

"The focus is on getting the bride as much information as possible in one sitting," said Kyle Brown, a representative with the Kern County Bridal Association.

Brown said the event will feature information on DJs, caterers, reception halls, clothes and, of course, a bridal fashion show.

Brown said the event is great for brides who either need a lot of help, or just a few pointers. They can get everything they need at the show without a hard sell or hassle.

"(We're) providing as much information to a bride that they can take home in three hours and digest," Brown said.

"If you're getting married in three months and just looking for flowers, why do you want to go to 54 booths when you have no interest? Go and see who you want."

Brown says to come prepared to have fun.

There will be prize drawings, lots of laughs and all the information you need for just $5.
